IBBL was established in October 2011 as a registered partnership firm by four professional bankers retired from Commercial Banks and Central Bank with the purpose of promotion of learning in the society particularly in banking sector. Main activity of the institute is to conduct workshops for the bankers on the subjects pertaining to their daily working and enhancing their skill to enter into middle management level. Other activities include conduct of customised training workshops for banks, tutorial classes for prospective candidates of professional examinations/ courses, liaison with local/ international financial institution in areas related to banking/ finance, consultancy/ HR support service for corporate sector and any other business activity with mutual consent of all members from time to time in future.
The vision of IBBL is to prepare Knowledge Managers in the society and particularly in the Banking Industry capable of meeting the challenges of the 21st century. For realisation of this dream IBBL is working on the policy of increasing its outreach in rural and semi urban areas. Generally the educated youth (both bankers and non bankers) of such areas remain training starved because learning activities are largely concentrated in training hubs like Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad .Keeping this in view, even in its first year, IBBL succeeded in conducting workshops at Nawabshah, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Multan, Sialkot and Faisalabad .Infuture we shall continue reaching bankers in remote areas and in smaller cities under the slogan “Training at bankers doorstep”. The second part of Strategy lies in working for small but growing banks who have not established their own full-fledged training institutes. IBBL is here to offer customised training programmes for such banks on areas where they feel need of training their HR. Such training especially in small cities and generally in all cities shall be purpose-driven and job-oriented. This is also the policy of IBBL to provide quality training at reasonable cost less than the market. Learning agenda of IBBL workshops essentially consists of Pre lecture test followed by subject discussion and other activities like Video clips, Group discussion, Case studies and post lecture assessment. That is why participants in general always found the workshop as an addition to their skills. IBBL is also grateful to the management of various banks who have always encouraged its endeavours for organizing quality workshops. Ibbl pledges and resolves that it shall continue its struggle to find skilful speakers and facilitators to conduct purposeful workshops. IBBL has initiated an email advisory service for the bankers who can mail its members about any operational problem which they face while working in operation, Credit International trade and in Islamic Banking.He/She will get the answer in 2 to 3 working days.
IBBL is a forum of professionals from banking industry and academia formed with the purpose of preparing Knowledge Managers capable of working in the 21st century learning environment.
